Already done that man, i have out copys of Ubuntu linux that i got from shipit at my school. Also, I know that you have there "using the domain forwarding of .co.nr". You have to put there banner on your site otherwaise they will delete the domain. I know that they actually do this because they did it to me heh.

Yes, I am talking about converting Joe Average. I don't care how horrible he is, he doesn't deserve Windows.

How is this any different? If they switch, they like Linux better. If they don't, the like Windows better. Why should it matter how they thought when we contacted them? We can't force anyone to change against their will, and even if we could, we wouldn't.

That's what we plan on telling them. "It WILL be hard at first. Suck it up, stick with it, and you'll be rewarded in the end." But it shouldn't HAVE to be difficult. Instead of complaining to the volunteer programmers who do the best they can with what they have, however, we are going to try and get the companies to make it easier on the programmers.

Well, we plan on converting everybody we can, no matter who they are. We don't discriminate here. If you're still interested in helping out, we'd be delighted to have you. Just pop an email over to TheLinuxCampaign@Gmail.com and you're in. If not, then I am sorry we cannot come to an agreement about who should use Linux, and I wish you well on your endeavours.

EDIT: Oops, apparently somebody snuck in before me.

And the world is a better place. Thank you, sir.

Thank you again for warning us of this. If we weren't getting our new server tomorrow, I would set out to remedy this immediately. Actually, I think I will fix this, and then just repoint the domain. Thank you for your help.

    Thanks for your kind comments.

Nope. You're surely doing more than me. I'm just a passive user. I don't try to convert someone. Although I love to bash M$ while talking with friend about computers, viruses and other issues.
I partly agree with d38dm8nw81k1ng. My friend aren't compuer savvy and I dont see why should I convert them. I'm almost concern that they will come back to crappy windoze after few first minutes because they won't find 'start' button. And learning new system will be nighmare for them.

Well, our biggest thing is we don't want to judge who is worthy of learning Linux and who's not. If they're not suited for it, they're not suited for it. They go back to Windows. And that's OK. But if they are suited for it, we might as well reach em, no?

    Great idea

With the decision to hold windows vista back for another few weeks, the press are going wild with it and OEM's are having problems with micro$oft. This is the perfect time for Linux to take hold and introduce it self to the average person. I feel the community should pressure the companies to start advertising on T.V. and in print, maybe even on radio, anywhere to get the word out. There are going to be about six diffrent versions of vista, which will complicate matters for the average person, we can use that to our advantage and push our products. Yes there are thousands of Linux versions out there also, but if the companies would agree to advertise JUST LINUX then we might stand a chance. We need to advertise more. This is something all of us can do as well, wear linux t-shirts, put up a banner on our web sites, anything to get the word out. Those of you who are working with compaines please talk to someone and get them to advertise on T.V. IBM did it before and it worked, get the others to do it as well.
    Thank You.
