It is this type of thinking & actions that will make Linux hit the big time.
Just something I noticed, if that is your temporary site, It looks quite good (though it may be basic).
Congrats Apollyein on the idea, I can see it working great in the long term, with a lot of Windows converts.

Thanks. It's just that there's so many people around our school who believe that Windows is a type of computer, we figure it's God's will that we educate them. And if there's that many here, how many worldwide? So we formed our own secret educational cult. And we started handing out live CDs. And we started putting up signs around school.
Every little bit goes a long way to making this a better world.
Thanks for your kind comments.

Hey Apollyein, nice name, almost mine lol. I have also started handing out LiveCds to all my friends, who are seriously considering switching to linux, or would swtich to linux, but are using a family pc, so multiple users means multiple headahces for them. I haven't gone so far as to putting up signs, but i always write www.distrowatch.com or linuxhq.com or something to that manner on my desks in school. Also, i take the oppurtunity and write it on my textbooks. The textbooks you buy, so I'm not defacing school property there, but the desks, well they clean them every thursday anyways.

Hey Apollo,
Glad to see you're doing something to spread the word. ^_^
I'd also like to take this opportunity to welcome Apollo to the Linux Campaign!
Welcome, Apollo. Thank you for your interest and dedication, two things that can only make this project grow.

Thanks, but we're not doing anything more than the rest of you are already doing. We're just organizing it a bit more.

You still have to go through the grueling rights of initiation... Kidding, kidding...

i'd just like to understand the goals of the campaign clearly. are we talking about converting joe average? because i really don't want joe average to use linux. let him keep windows. if, however, you are about informing people who are dissatisfied with windows and are looking for an alternative, then that's different. though, it must be said that honesty is the best policy. i see too many posts of people who come into the forums with "this is too hard in linux, no wonder nobody uses it!!" what must be made clear is that the user can expect a hard time with linux, and must accept that they must learn something different. as long as people understand that, then i'll be happy to welcome them to the forums, otherwise, they can just get that windows install disc out the bin and go back to that.
anyway, rant over. if it's the second option then count me into it. i've already got one friend using linux on his laptop. i'll be able to offer some advice to anyone that needs it too. Here's why Linux is easier than Windows:
Package Managers! Apt-Get and Portage (among others) allow users to install programs MUCH easier than Windows can.
Hardware Drivers. In SuSE, ALL the hardware is detected and installed automatically! How is this harder than Windows' constant disc changing and rebooting?
