what still kills me is if he thought the people at centos were hackers and in his own words 'he wouldnt just follow instructions on an unknown web page'. Then why the hell would you contact the hackers to ask for help? i have been only working professionally for 6 years and discovered whois tools on accident. this man has been involved for 22 years and never once came accross the same tools that johnny used to find out his problems. Another thing that i was enraged by is his comments that his requests for help went unanswered. i didnt see him ask one question except why is your software on my computer. that doesnt count as a request for information or help me find out whats going on. the tuttle times needs to be under new management if they cannot see for themselves that the guy started off beligerant and aweful then calmed down after finding out it wasnt centos that was the problem.

Judging from the comments I've seen him still making about the CentOS community, I'd say he still hasn't calmed down, or accepted fault for his actions for that matter.

    At Duncan, Oklahoma

I have been thinking about posting this...

I have had to travel to Duncan, Oklahoma to pursue research at Halliburton for my doctoral degree. On of those times I went to Duncan I noticed a computer at the lobby for the guests to use and it was loaded with Red Hat Linux... The thing worked fine and apparently was set up by a local computers' outfit. When I asked the lady at the front desk she told me that in fact they were familiar with Linux and that they liked it a lot...

I don't think that Tuttle's manager will ever calm down and apologize for his mistake... Too bad he got more help than he deserved...

most people i talk to about linux either dont know what it is or think i am nutty for choosing it. its funny though because one day i will get tech support and have them ask the golden question which version of window are you using and have them in complete ignorance stammer about not knowing what to say. which btw did happen to me in New Mexico. i was staying at a hotel that had free wireless internet. well i tried to get on but for some reason i could not surf the web at all. i could use an IM program. now why web wouldnt work but IM would i am not sure. but when i called thier tech support the guy asked what version of windows i was running i actually got to say that i am not using windows but i am using linux. pretty much nothing they could do for me.

another story i will share is that one boss i had a few years ago who just hated anything outside windows products. well we use oracle financials as our financials package. well the newer version uses apache and he was angry at oracle and wanted them to redo it so that it would use IIS plus he was trying to get our people to try to install it with IIS, which would never be supported.
to make a long story short after all the jerkish behavior he ended up having to use it anyway. they currently have apache and IIS running on the same network. and guess what the world didnt end. this is ofcourse the same guy who made a big stink one day because there was no coffee in the office, someone was saving the empty coffee cans. he was cussing screaming and throwing things. i had to go get coffee so the prick would calm down. i am thinking that really the guy shouldnt drink coffee. in the long run i was the one who convinced him that Apache was alright and that running it soley would be a better option than IIS anyhow. but he got fired before that ever happened.

haha. My friend is actually interested in trying linux because his sister's don't know how to use it..and most tech won't so he'd get the privacy he wanted. :P

I mean, I don't even have to lock my screen when I'm on linux..because my dad doesn't even know how to switch workspaces lol or I'll leave an empty tty* on. :P
