I learned the other day not to swerve when you are about to hit something. On the way back home I saw the poor 'coon was already in the other lane when I hit him. Needless to say it made me fell prety stupid.

Not to mention swerving to avoid a deer doesn't help when you swerve into an oncoming truck.

did i mention that an Expedition at 35 MPH hitting a dear doesn't slow the expedition down at all. i didn't even feel the impact just watched the deer go airborne so i'll have to agree with the no swerve policy.

Around here, people say its better to speed up, Especially when in a car. Our moose are pretty highly set off the ground, usually 3/4 feet legs on them, so i can see why you might want to speed up and just send it flying over the top of the car. Going slow might cause it to just flop through the windshield and into your lap.

oh yeah deffinitally speed up... when you hit your breaks it sends your nose down and it goes stright through the winsheild.... i hit a deer once going about 65mph. ... it flew about 30 feet in the air but it diddnt do hardly andy dammage to my van or anyhitng... another itm ei was with someone and they hit the breaks... it came stright through and if he had been like 7 inches over my freinds would have been killed probally.... so im a firm beleiver in the speed up method.... un less your far back enough to saftly stop. {8^) -ZAc

speed up? that's an interesting concept i grew up in texas so i was thinking 14 Inch lift and 38 inch tires on my expedition. then even a moose would just catch bumper
