Instruments

Who here plays an instrument?
What do you play and how long have you played?

I play guitar, cliche, I know, but it's fun. I'm at a noob level, even though I obtained my first guitar in '03. It's just that I'm on the computer more than I practice.

My favorite song to play is Blackbird, because it just lifts my spirits, I guess.

Violin, drums, and American Indian flute - that's about all I have time for nowadays. Played trumpet and baritone in high school.

I play steel strung folk guitar and have done since I was 18. I don't read music but I wish I did.

It's the first instrument I heard. My dad used to play a four string Clifford Essex banjo in a jazz band, but it has a lovely sound and I would also like to learn to play.

Even though the model shown in the link above is a five string the design is similar.

I played French horn, trumpet and guitar in high school, mellophone (marching French horn) and guitar in college, and now I pretty much stick to guitar.

I started playing clarinet in middle school [1988], kept playing through high school, a bit of college, and a number of years in military bands, until I left the service in 2003. Haven't played since then, mostly because I don't have a good mouthpiece and can't afford one yet.

I play guitar, my third year now. I mostly play Metallica, Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Lamb of God, Rammstein etc. Strangely enough I also enjoy classical guitar and classical piano music for when I am feeling particulary blue.
