I received an Email that a bunch of Linux distributors ( FSG ) were collaborating to produce a sort of Universal Linux OS! Has any other LinuxForum member heard of such a thing? Is there somewhere to get more information?

I heard about five company's in Asia getting together and making one universal disto called Asianux. I think thats it.

Rumblings and rumors of this sort of thing surface from time to time. First it was UnitedLinux (now dead), then the Linux Standards Base (still alive AFAIK), then the Debian Core Consortium (got in a fight over the name "Debian")... If anyone succeeds at it, more power to them.

After posting this thread I have learned that Xandros will be the first to come out with LSB, 3.1 on May 1, 2006; with Novell, Red Hat, Debian, plus Ubuntu to follow.
