Overwhelming Ads!
I do not mean to bash LF.org in any way / form.
BUT.........
ever since ownership has changed from jasonlambert to CoreWizard, the site's design has gone to pits!
The ads!!! ohhhh the ads!
The hover-over IntelliTxt ads are killing me!
I've noticed, over about three months that those IntelliTxt hover-over ads have been flooding forums that i go to every now and then, including linuxforums.org
If enough people here vote against the hover-over ads I will PM CoreWizard complaining about the matter.
I just would like to see the site's overwhelming ads taken away.

I'm not really a fan of ads either, but I surf the forum using Firefox with Adblock and NoScript extensions. The forums looks pretty clean with those.

I have to agree they do get a bit bothersome as it seems rather slow when rendering all the hover ads.
Has anyone else noticed a general slowdown of the forums?

Linux Forums would likely die a quick and sudden death without paying advertisers. That said, I've never seen any ads, so if they exist they aren't really bothering me.

Actually those ads are tracing the information that you put in. For example, if you type something like the words "intel pentium" you will see ads displayed for the "Intel Pentium 4"

Hmm......I really don't think your suppose to put them on a forum though.
No I don't think that would work because you see, then it would pick up your password and log on information.
- 04-22-2006 #6I agree completely. The ads are there to support the forums and its further development. Although it would be nice to not have to worry about financial concerns, unfortunately that's not the case.

I don't like the Intellitext ads either. Having said that, Core has defended them by saying the revenue helps keep the forum alive, and I am willing to make that sacrifice.

There is a four-letter word that adequately describes any type of pop-up ads >>> SPAM

YES - as a matter of fact, I have... :drown:Has anyone else noticed a general slowdown of the forums?
(I also seem to spend a lot of time looking at the phrase 'Waiting for ads.coreroot.com', not to mention...
)
