    Digital Asset Management

Kia ora all. I'm from NZ and a bit of a newbie *g*. I was wondering if you have any advice as to how to find the best open source digital asset management systems available. I work in the education sector here, and we are beginning to handle a lot of rich media - eg video clips, shockwave and flash interactives, audio files/podcasts, animations etc.

I need a really easy way to store these - ie a system which handles media really well, uses standardised metadata to describe and discover the media files and content, present a catalogue view of what's in the library (eg being able to view thumbnails etc of first frames or images etc) , and be able to store accompanying word-based transcripts etc which I want to be able to text index and search.

Any leads or advice much appreciated. Apologies in advance if I have not used the right forum for this request

A "Content Management System" may do what you are looking for.. It's basically a website you can use to manage content..

    Check the Demo menu here
    http://www.opensourcecms.com/index.p...388&Itemid=160
They are listed by rank.. there are reviews for each one.
    I really like MDPro

They have many many CMS, and other content systems here installed and operational so you can look at them, play with them, see how the admin interface loks.
    far...out
