I've been searching around trying to find a new fun/challenging distro to stick on my laptop. Right now I have ubuntu - but I was looking into slackware/gentoo/arch and the like. Then I came across lunar-linux. It looks pretty interesting - has anyone tried it out? Before I go through with it I wanna see if anyone has tried it out yet and if they had good or bad experiences with it.

I tried it and did not care for it.
One o the things that I didn't like was that when you want to install/upgrade or do anything of that nature, you have to run a full root shell.
Not just "su" into root, but "su -" into root.
After getting into the habit of just using su, I would just keep forgetting to put the - after su.
One of the things that most people don't like is when you want to install something, you will be asked which optional packages you would like to install.
For instance, if you want to install kde-profile, you will be asked if you want to install kdegames, then you will be asked if you want to install kdemultimedia, and so on and so on. Each package can create it's own dependencies.
After all of the questions are asked, everything will be compiled from source. How to know if you are a geek.
