what do you mean expanded? I am a oracle programmer for my work. for a while MySQL couldnt hold a candle to oracle. up till recently it didnt support Table triggers or transactions. MySQL is rapidly improving in many areas and i feel its much more responsive than SQL Server. i have programmed for SQL Server as well.
