    Java Open Source?

    I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this:

    I'm just praying they don't screw it up the way they did when they "open-sourced" Solaris. Please let them use a non-restrictive open-source license like the GPL or BSD licenses and not some home-brew "you can only give the changes to US" license like the CDDL....

    Perhaps I'm just dreaming here. Sun has very wonky ideas of what it means to "open-source" something, IMO.

    ::UPDATE:: - After reading the article and the one linked about Project Glassfish, I'm very saddened to see that Sun is indeed still intending to use the CDDL license for everything. This license perverts what it means to be open-source and will no doubt contribute to market confusion and the dilution of the meaning of "open-source" in the world. I hope the CEO of Sun dies of gonorrhea and rots in hell. But that's just my opinion.
