New Tool Album
I was only recently made aware of this, but my favorite band, Tool, has a new album that got released this month. Yay! The name is 10,000 Days. Just thought I'd share in case anyone else was a fan.
For those not fans, the reason a new Tool album is news-worthy is that Tool releases albums very infrequently, but with consistent quality. The last album was Lateralus, released in 2001.
I for one am also looking forward to more Tool videos, which have in the past gained a bit of a reputation for being incredibly creepy, surreal, and creative.Last edited by techieMoe; 05-18-2006 at 07:46 PM.

although I do like Tool, I am not a fan of the first singe Vicarious (I think that is the name). It is to long IMHO (even long for a Tool song

A guy that does reviews of music albums in our part of Tasmania, gave the album a not so good rating, and I can remember listening to Triple J (all you Aussies know what I'm on about) and one of their tracks off the album was playing. Didn't sound great.
I have listened to Tool b4, and their older tracks sound better, IMHO.
I prefer heavy metal myself, I don't think Tool are heavy enough for me, although some of their older tracks do appeal to me."Time has more than one meaning, and is more than one dimension" - /.unknown

I was going to say, 'Never heard of them' but I think I heard some on BBC Six Music last weekend. I'll have another listen, as I'm always trying to find something new to add to my collection. I usually go for more blues based rock music (a US band I heard recently called Savatage were a good example) but don't mind a bit of thrash ...
there's nothing wrong with spanking the plank ...
Trivium are doing very well in the UK at the moment. In a recent interview I was amazed at how literate and 'clued up' they were. I stopped to hear the whole interview in fact.I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. - Pablo Picasso

Well, to each their own. I happen to quite like the new album, and I don't think there's such a thing as a song that's "too long". But then, one of my favorite songs of all time is A Change of Seasons by Dream Theater... which is about 30 minutes... so I guess I have a high tolerance.
On a side note, the album itself is pretty neat. It comes with stereoscopic glasses attached to it that make the album art 3D. Makes it a little hard to put in a CD case though. Haha.Registered Linux user #270181

- 05-20-2006 #8A Change of Seasons is the title track on the album of the same name. I've listened to a few other Dream Theater albums but none really caught me like that one.
