Pool is a great game! I used to play alot but never became really good at it. I've always wanted to have my own table here at home but not enough money, or enough room in the house.

I love shooting stick. I suggest getting a good stick; Minnesota Fats are great sticks. Practice, practice and practice. Watch the pros on TV, too. It's a great game, especially at the bar.

No ... I suck at it which is a serious social handicap in the UK. If you can play pool over here you'll meet loads of people, get invited to parties and drink less ... I only play from time to time.
Even though I'm bad at it, I do actually have a couple of tips (for people like me who are pre-destined to lose).
- Look as if you are the best. Stroll around the table marking out your territory (but don't actually pee on anything). The opposition should get nervous and start missing easy shots;
- get low down to the table when you take a shot. The cue should (mostly) be flat ... almost parallel with the table;
- rest your chin on the cue ... helps to keep things steady;
- think about each shot before you take it ... think of the angles ...
- try to relax ... if you tighten up you'll miss shots;
- don't play for money unless you know you can win ....
- if you can't pot anything don't try: play dirty and play to slow down your opponent instead.
That's it ... but I'm still no good at that game.I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. - Pablo Picasso

Not saying I'm a master or even good at it. But I do play pool sometimes. Train yourself in the accuracy field with pool sims such as foobillard, it helps with the real games, really.

No, I hate playing pool. The game bores me to death. We are somewhat of an "institution" in upstate South Carolina. Pool is a big part of our identity, but our hot dogs are the reason we've been in business for over seventy-four years.
