I started out with KDE, went to flux for a bit then settled on Gnome. Not sure what I like about it, probably the foot

Meh... both are too bloated for my ancient sys. Thats why fluxbox does the job. Perhaps once debian releases sarge, i'll try xfce4.

I use Gnome. And of course for personal reasons
I find it more appealing and easier to use than KDE.

I used to use KDE from CVS. But now I'm more comfortable with newest Fluxbox branch from CVS. But to choose Gnome or KDE, I'd go with Gnome.

Being from a Windows background I prefer KDE, though I have used Gnome in the past and think it's very good. I tried Gnome on Mandrake 9.1 and had some problems. Go with your instincts on this one!

i woudl pick kde for 2 really pathetic reasons.

    1) right now its working fine and gnome isnt coz of my messign with configs

    2) i know how to put the close/min bottons on the left (ie mac style) in kde but cant work it out in gnome.

I actually use enlightenment but the poll is only gnome/kde

    I use both.
But Gnome is with Nautilus far better then KDE.
But KDE 3.2 gives a nice boost ....
