Craigslist - Plague of society
Who here has used Craigslist? Being in essence an open source community bulletin board for all kinds of things, it really does work for some people. For me however, it has been a nightmare.
*Posting a job at our company. I do the interviews. The person is a troll from under a bridge. Or they never show up. Or they have pus coming out of their eye (true story).
*Selling things. Get a buyer, they wanna haggle. Kiss my butt. They say they'll come get it, never show up and no email contact afterwards. Or better yet, they want me to deliver it and they live in a different time zone.
*Buying things. Go over to get it and they sold it while I was on the way because they weren't sure if I was coming over despite me getting their address and telling them I will be there at a certain time. Nice.
*Looking for free stuff. Instead of people posting stuff for free, you have cyberbeggars spilling out a sob story about how they're on disability (too many big macs will do that to you), their husband can't work because of a back injury (lifting too many beers), their kids are mutants and their house is green. And you need to deliver it to them, only when it's convenient for them.
*Rants & Raves section. Good for a laugh, but a scary reminder of what happens when biggots and idiots get a broadband connection and think their skewed perception of the world is going to sway someone with half a brain to think like them. Yea, racism and sexist remarks will always make you look smart!
So I'm thinking about building a site as an alternative called flakeslist.org. It will be dedicated to people who put off fulfilling their obligation to do their part of the deal, and cyberbeggars will have their own section called "Broke Asses". Any other sections I should put in there?

I have never seen the rants and raves section before... it is kind of funny reading about people ranting about their lives lol
I have checked the site several times but never used it for any sale... I plan on doing so soon so I hope that I dont have bad experiences like you

I have found a lot of that to be true, but I have also made a lot of money on craigslist too. I have had my share of butt-heads that don't show.
Some people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot more careful about what they say if they had.

It's the ugliest site I've seen for a long time. There's one for Birmingham as well, but it doesn't look very promising. And who's Craig?
