Smile Is anyone getting a GP2X? Do you know what it is? lol

This is a pretty sweet system, dual processors, open source community, linux 2.6 kernel. Usb, sd etc.
I work a lot on music at my college (synthenisizers recording etc) and im getting this unit because I would like to save some of my work onto this device, and with usb posibilities I could connect a little sound card to it and record directly to the device as a flac. (btw I make rap music) I would like to record, and play some marvel vs capcom while recording.
When I get this device I'll post up a review. Is there anyone else interested in having one of these or developing for one of these?
The only thing I gripe about is there is NO WIFI on the unit, which makes no sense, u could actually install a usb wifi adapter to it. Hacking from a handheld unit, technology gets better and better!

I've wanted one of these right back as far as the GP32. They are pretty cool, it does quite a lot. I think the one thing that's holding me back is the storage cost. If they stuck a nice hardrive inside or maybe SD cards were available in 20GB size...Now that would be the all killer! Imagine PMP and handheld gamer all in one Open Source glory!

To tell you the truth they could have slapped a hd on this unit, or what about those darn disks on chip?! Actually yeah, there should be one of those on these. I agree with you too, the sd is pretty crazy, I'd rather just buy some usb storage stuff for this thing.

That aside, I'm still thinking of getting one. But because music (and sometimes video)is more important to me I think I'd be better holding out for one with storage as I said

Good luck to them though, it's a cool project.

is this that free hand-held console?
Here's why Linux is easier than Windows:
Package Managers! Apt-Get and Portage (among others) allow users to install programs MUCH easier than Windows can.
Hardware Drivers. In SuSE, ALL the hardware is detected and installed automatically! How is this harder than Windows' constant disc changing and rebooting?

I'm pretty sure there was a long discussion about this before.
