Please explain " KDE SSL information KDE "!!
I logged into my Yahoo mail and a KDL SSL information KDE was on my screen. I could not print what it said so I wrote it down. Halfway through the thing was the statement: the certificate has not been issued for this host. An IP address for Akamai Technologies, GTE corporation, a serial number, a cipher in use, and SSL version were included. My first thought, sadly, was that my computer has been hijacked again.
I have never seen this before, but I'm growing more gray hair not knowing what it means; so I am here appealing to LinuxForum members for help, again!! Thanks!

I'm not too hot on cryptography - it's a specialised subject - but your distro probably has OpenSSL installed. Sites are either trusted or not, and trusted sites ... well it's up to you whether you trust them and issue them with a valid 'certificate'. At least that's my limited understanding of it.
So your distro is doing a fine job, and your computer hasn't been hijacked.

Thank You for your reply Fingal!!
Can you explain SSL to me please?
Are they a part of Yahoo?
I do not want to issue anything to anyone.
Can I shut SSL off?
I really do not need to bring upon a heart attack by seeing strange messages appear on my computer screen. Every time I got one of those while using Windows; it meant my computer had been Hijacked again.
P.S. It took me a while to get your soccer joke; but I finally got it!!
