Peta
I truly hate this organization, this last year teachers at my school, that were members of peta, have fed my classmates bull **** movies and quite a few kids decided to join peta's ranks of stupidity and become a vegetarian. This is whats happening to the future of the world, their being brain washed by babbling idiots. They even have a web site dedicated to brainwashing kids into joining peta called peta2, this company sponsors things that kids will be around such as concerts and things of the sort. In the end its wrong to force these opinions into kids minds.
PETA is extremely hipocritical, they claim to love animals but in 2004 they killed 70% of the animals they took into their shelter. Wow doesn't that sound a little bizarre? The leader of peta stated that sometimes the only option for these animals is death, certainly doesn't sound like a animal lover to me. Last year 2 members of peta were caught with dozens of dead animals in their trunk in garbage bags.

PETA members care more about animals than they do humans, the leader of peta has stated herself that if she found a cure to cancer and it required animal testing that she wouldn't give it to the rest of the world. Theres odviosly something wrong with that mentality. Not to mention they hate pet owners, because owning a pet means its not making its own decision, but wait, many breeds of dogs and cats wouldn't be around if it weren't for pet owners.
They also feed criminal organizations (specifically Earth Liberation Front (ELF), an FBI-certified “domestic terrorist” group responsible for dozens of firebombs and death threats, and Animal Liberation Front (ALF) activist convicted of burning down a Michigan State University research laboratory).
So in the end it comes down to that this company has a tax exempt status that needs to be taken away as soon as possible, this company is brain washing the youth of the nation, their feeding us lies and we just take it, they are funding eco-terrorists, and they dont say what their saying they want to. These people are avoiding over $3.5 million in federal income taxes due to this tax exempt status.
sign the petition today and end their bull **** for good,

i personaly hate peta as, well. i didnt know all that about them, i just new they were made up of morons. the leaders should be arrested for aiding terrorism if they are supporting terrorists.
for teachers to actualy be spreading this to their students is wrong. they should not be allowed to show videos ore spread propoganda in the schools.
of course if the students just werent idiots this wouldnt be a problem.nVidia G-Force 6600GT (bfg) pci-e: amd 64 2000+ (939): 1024 corsair ram: 2X 80gb seagate harddisk SATA: plextor cd/dvd-read/write cdrom SATA

"Hate" seems like a somewhat strong word, huh?
Now, I support fair treatment of animals, but I will agree that PETA takes it too far sometimes. For example, animal testing with regards to medicine: I want my medicine tested before I get it. I love animals, but you will never convince me that an animal's life is worth the same as a human's. If we can save hundreds (or thousands) of human lives at the cost of animal testing, I support the testing.
My understanding of the terrorism issue is that PETA provides an umbrella organization for those people who like free animals from labs or whatnot to report their actions: as far as I am aware, PETA does not advocate harming of human life.
I think PETA has a good message (I do support vegetarianism: I'm not one myself, but I do wrestle with eating meat a fair amount), but I do think that placing animals above humans is quite a mistake.DISTRO=Arch

I am no big fan of PETA but
Is extremly misleading. PETA purposely "adopts" many animals from other shelters that are already going to be put to death and then kills the animals themselves by a more humane way. I see no hypocrisy in PETA killing animals that have no other option than an very painful life.PETA is extremely hipocritical, they claim to love animals but in 2004 they killed 70% of the animals they took into their shelter. Wow doesn't that sound a little bizarre? The leader of peta stated that sometimes the only option for these animals is death, certainly doesn't sound like a animal lover to me.
This is different than the thousands of other stupid groups how?

I am a member of PETA and it is extremely obvious to me not a single person here speaking against the organization knows a single thing he/she is talking about. Most of us are used to this ignorance though.
I remove roadkill on a regular basis - if I were to be pulled over I am sure I would make the news too. Anyone can become a member of PETA - and sure there are extremists who the media love to focus on (as a part of the media I understand this).
As far as brainwashing kids - look to how people treat animals day to day and try to figure out who the brainwashed ones truly are. We are in a world full of psychopaths these days, and if anyone tries to go "against the grain" and show consideration towards animals he/she is generally shot down in humiliation.
Most members of PETA do not view animals "above" humans as you so ignorantly stated - most of us simply view each life form as equal. I will no sooner support testing on animals than I will on a human beings.
Last federal statistic I saw (nearly 3 years ago now) showed that the current lifestyle of human beings is causing the extinction of over 200 species per day. If you don't understand why this bothers people than I suppose you're not even worth my time, because you're obviously messed up in the head. Go shoot off your ignorance elsewhere.10" Sony Vaio SRX99P 850MHz P3-M 256MB RAM 20GB HD : ArchLinux

Is there such a thing as an " unbrainwashing " school system. Every teacher that I ever had had biases about one subject or another. It is much easier to hate something you know nothing about than to contemplate the " beliefs " of others. Such is the nature of the imperfect human species.

I am in my twenties - you? I'm guessing teens as it sounds you're still in high school. I'm also guessing the videos you saw in your classroom showed footage of animals being treated poorly. Treating animals poorly is unfortunately extremely common in our culture these days - and we have all been raised around it so many people think that it's ok.
I am a vegetarian and my girlfriend is vegan. This is another difficult area - when people find out how their meat got to their plate, and learn what types of chemicals and steroids are put into the meat, they simply shrug it off as if this "is how it should be" because as long as they can remember that's how it has always been. When people go against this mentality and feel that our system is flawed and unnatural I don't understand why others like you feel the need to bash them.
There are thousands of selfless people devoting hundreds of hours of their time in attempt to speak for those who cannot speak. Fight for those who cannot fight. I view this as 100% heroic. Just because you personally cannot put yourself into an animals situation and cannot understand what they are going through does not make it ok to support current malpractice.
This is an area I am extremely emotional in and I never felt the need to bring it up in attempt to get any of you to change your lifestyles. This is an area you're obviously extremely ignorant in yet you still felt the need to take an uneducated cheap blow.10" Sony Vaio SRX99P 850MHz P3-M 256MB RAM 20GB HD : ArchLinux
