Linux: The Definitive Guide, A Wiki.
I made a post a long time ago about a project I was going to start. It was a book containing every prectical thing a normal Linux user or administrator would need. Yes, it would be a big project...which is why I haven't started it yet.
that thread can be found here: http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/mis...tml#post293955
Then I had a thought: Why not make it a wiki?
There are quite a lot of guides on linux and such, but with authors permissions I could throw them in, reformat them, elaborate, add things, whatever, ...
Occasionally I think of something new that would be useful to the guide, and I write it down. I've got a rough outline...the only thing I lack is some initiative and help.
I'd really like to make this thing...I personally can't afford a domain and server, let alone know anything about editing wiki's, but if anyone likes this idea, I'd gladly help as much as I can.
what we would need:
* a server.
* a domain name.
* someone that knows how to maintain wiki, apache, and php servers.
* volunteers to help write the content.
