I got my first bit of advertising related to the webcomic today. I suppose that could be considered a compliment. The message started out interestingly enough:

On the Fr1tz, now with spam.

This might have flattered me had it not come from a media company in Chesterfield, UK. I'm leery about people wanting to use my comic for advertisements, and even more leery about someone who says they were "impressed by the quality of the comics strips" on my site. I mean, did they actually look at the strips? Hmmm.. What do you folks think?

How strange and vaguely surreal. I was travelling through Chesterfield on the train not long ago. The town is famous for having a twisted church spire (they built in wood) and not a very likely place for a media company.
Seems odd but also very intriguing.

They're in Chesterfield! You could be getting a 5 year old to draw your comics and they'd be impressed
By the way Moe, did you get a 5 year old to do your comics?
- 08-03-2006 #4Hence why I was leery. It smacked of a form letter. I went ahead and asked for some more information anyway. Perhaps I can get a feel for how reputable they are. And no, I couldn't afford a 5 year old to do my comics. Their candy budget alone would wipe me out.

Haha! Well, after requesting more information they answered the most important question I had, "is it even possible to make money off 100 hits a month?" Their answer: no, probably not.
Oh well, it was an interesting thing to ponder. On the Fr1tz remains sponsor-free.Registered Linux user #270181
