Yeah I thought that was sweet, and particularly because it was using one of my preferred distros. Unfortunately I spied this on slashdot yesterday - http://hardware.slashdot.org/article...55244&from=rss

According to the article, they will offer the laptops without Windows preinstalled, will provide support for the laptops with SLED10 installed, and will provide Linux drivers for hardware in the laptop.
That sounds pretty good to me. Not as good as having Linux preinstalled, but still pretty nice.DISTRO=Arch

From the Lenovo website:
http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/notebooks/t...ies/index.htmlIn addition, select T60p mobile workstation models now support Novell Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop 10. These new models include a select set of integrated, Linux-compatible ThinkVantage Technologies and are undergoing ISV-certification for many mission-critical design applications - putting ThinkPad on its first true path toward a mobile engineering environment.
It's only the T-series which are going to be supporting SUSE."Today you are freer than ever to do what you want, provided you can pay for it!" --Bad Religion

Yea I read about this on cnet a few days ago. Pretty tight. Unfortunately it's only going to be the more expensive models - but hey, it's a start! Very cool that they're putting in the effort to ensure all the Lenovo "extras" work in linux.
