If I fail to add 2 teaspoons of a secret ingredient -- or, if I don't keep it a secret -- will it have an adverse effect on the chili?

Meat is murder. Tasty, tasty murder.

Meat is murder, but fish is justifiable homicide.

By the way: I would also use a veggie substitute, and most people wouldn't know the difference.
