An Interesting Project
Ok, I have a lot of files I want to download, but not to my computer. I have file hosting space and thats where I'de like to keep them. I don't want to download the files to my pc and then upload them because up speeds are slow and that would take forever. Generally, these files would be coming from sites like FileFront and Download.com.
So the question is: is there a way to transfer those files directly from the site to my file hosting directory?
.....Right now I'm playing with Suse 10.1 64 bit.

Do you have shell access to your host? If so, you can probably use SSH to login and then just use wget to download them directly to the host.

Oh, I see what you mean- its "like" I would be working from the machine my hosting account is on. I was lookin at things the wrong way!! I googled up the things you've mentioned. I would try them now but I work second shift. I just got home and as I read this I'm yawning profusely. As soon as I give that stuff a try I'll post back with my progress.

nope. no shell access. but i have found sites offering shell accounts, but i haven't seen any with unlimited bandwidth. I guess this wasn't such an interesting project after all.
