hmm... seems people dont agree.

soem of the stuff is similar (eg text shadows on icons) but in general XP looks all cheaply made and low res. (even at 1600x1200) it has jagged corners where it should be round)

and KDE support (semi)transparent taskbars (3.2 and up) and background blendign with patterns etc that can do some really cool effects.

It wouldn't suprise me is M$ copies from the open source community and that distributes it as part of prop. software.

This happens though out software development im sure open source projects copy from Windows or from the MacOS the goal is to make it a better implementaion then theres :P
