I played with it, and aside from a slightly updated default theme... I really didn't see anything new. I mean, of course I'm going to upgrade when it gets officially released, but I expected a full point release (2.0 rather than 1.3 to 1.4) to have something more obvious. Maybe I just missed some gee-whiz gizmo.

All i know is that there better be a nested spellcheck like Konqueror! i've been waiting for that to be implemented for a long time. As you can tell from any of my posts.. i do need it.

Shhh! Don't say that name! The words Fire and Fox, if combined, could lead to legal issues. You might have to change the name the next time you say it or print it.

The legal problem was using the name without the logo, or vice versa. Also, Debian uses a modified build of Firefox, that being said, Mozilla doesn't want there name/logo on a product that may have bugs due to edits they don't know about.

I think that's a perfectly reasonable thing to ask. "If you change it, use a different name." What I don't understand is why the Debian folks have such a problem with it.

I've been using the bon-echo nightly's for some time now (update it every couple of days or so). I'm actually quite impressed with the improvements. Given that they're not exactly ground-breaking but then I didn't find much wrong with the current one.

I like the close tabs button being on the tabs by default and the built-in spelling is really useful.

On the two systems I use it on (one WinXP, the other Kubuntu) it seems to load pages faster too

Some possible alternative names for FF:
    • WaterWeasel
    • BurntBadger
    • AirHamster

I can't wait to see a logo for 'Airhamster'.

What Plugins/Extensions/Addons do you guys use for firefox? I've never used any - I have a feeling I'm missing out.

The ones feel I must install right off the bat whenever I start using Firefox on a new system:

    Adblock
    NoScript

Ones I've just had fun with in the past:

    FasterFox

You'd be amazed how much cleaner most webpages look when you've adblocked and noscripted them.
