    evidence since when does microsoft need evidence in its claims. the latest i read on slashdot is that the economy will suffer in the EU if Vista is delayed.

    Perhaps in a sense it is ... in the way news of it spreads. I'm not sure what Steve Ballmer meant by 'viral' though. I suspect he wasn't being complimentary!

    I've been reading up on MD5 and it isn't 100% secure, but it can still tell you when a file/download is corrupt, so it's useful in that way.

    I'm not concerned with secure, I'd just like to be able to know whether or not a download was corrupted.

    Yes that's what I was implying ... I had that very much in mind. It's not a frontline security tool it seems.
