    Congratulations! What subject was your dissertation on?
    Now what? You have Linux installed and running. The GUI is working fine, but you are getting tired of changing your desktop themes. You keep seeing this "terminal" thing. Don't worry, they'll show you what to do @

    The last and greatest hurdle is overcome!

    Out of curiosity, did you have to do an internship for your doctorate? I ask because my g/f will be proposing her dissertation soon, but she still has a year of internship before she gets her PsyD.

    The requirements differ based on discipline. Psychology is a lot different than say, Math.

    My PhD is in Chemical Engineering. I had a research assistanship as part of the deal where I was paid an monthly stipend.

    My dissertation's title is:

    Manganese Tetraoxide Polyalkenoate Cements



    In other words, an organic/inorganic cementitious compound...
