I always figured that a bad or incompetent call center is just a way for a company to ignore you after they have gotten you to spend your money.

I have talked to nice people at a couple of my ISP's but the companies themselves download spyware and adware into the computers of their customers. End users always lose one way or another.

I can relate to Fingal's tale as years ago I had to bring the water department of the city of Boston to court over their estimated water bills. The judge said he could not order the city to refund the money we already had paid but he ordered the city to only issue future bills for $1.00. If I still lived in Boston I still would not have caught up to the water meter.

Oh god, call centres. I've had those experiences mostly with Dell, but since I now run only Linux and a Mac, I've avoided any of those calls recently .

A friend of mine's father (who is Indian) finds life easier just speaking in Hindi to those people. Which is always a bad sign.
