What are you planning on buying? Just the domain name? Or an actual webhosting plan? I got a domain with Yahoo for $2.00, which was just a masked url, and a domain with Godaddy that I also bought a nice hosting plan with for $71($6 a month).

www.value-name.com and godaddy.com are pretty good services, they have the same yearly price of about $8. You don't need to start off with a hosting plan, you can just forward to your ip address. Be careful, some registrars do not offer custom dns solutions, while godaddy and value name do, which is really handy if you run mailservers at a different location, or more than one box for the domain.

The problem with yahoo is their demand for an Internet address that they can sell to advertisers.
My ego wanted a certain domain name just to keep it from going to someone else and as a result I get ads every day from the buyers of yahoo addresses.
Luckily for me the Email address is that of my first ISP which I hardly use anymore. My advice " Be careful with Yahoo ".
