need help choosing
hello guys, im new to the linux way of live, well i tried mandrake 3 years ago, it was a good experience, ok i wanna go back and use linux in a free hard drive, i say lots of topic in ur website and other places, but any1 says it depends of what u like.
so this is what i like so pls help me
i wanna get a good friendly envaroment,
easy to use,
i can use some of the windows programs ,
chances to change the desktop, like desktop themes
free to use or if i have to pay for it, at least a really good 1
and that help me learn more about(like having chance to learn more) if i wanna do servers in the future.
i was thinking of mandriva or xandros.
what do u think?and why u recomend that kind of linux
pls help me with this, thanks

For friendliness and an environment that you're already used to I suggest in the following order-- PCLinuxOS, Mandriva, Suse.
If you want to get a handle on servers I suggest trying CentOS. That's also easy to setup, configure and use. It's based on Red Hat Enterprise.
