Of course that is true, but that presumes you have agreed to the EULA and that EULAs are enforceable. There have been many questions asked about exactly how legal they are and concerns expressed that you can't agree to them until after you have purchased the product.

More news on Vista. Some specifications on the new DRM stuff includes this stuff about "Reduced Functionality Mode" for users who do not report their Windows version after 30 days or within three days of any hardware changes. Maybe you guys already knew this stuff, but it surprised the hell out of me:

That's the part which really scares me about Vista. They've already put in some DRM, and they're just going to put even more in future versions with trusted computing.
