Research Project on OS communities
I'm currently trying (actually I'm in the panic zone... one week left :drown
to do a project on open source communities and I have run into a dearth of reasearch concerning OS communities and interculturalism. My class is on intercultural communication and I happily said I would do some research on intercultural communication in open source communities.
So, for the fun of itm can everyone (or at least some of you) post your nationality? I'm curios if my project has a basis (considering the research I found is rather skimpy)
It's sort of an informal questionnaire.
Also, any awesome suggestions, remarkable insights, or brilliant ideas are always welcome
Thanks !!!

Hi - I'm English and I live in .... England!
You might want to discuss open source in the context of gift cultures and hackerism. If so, check out Eric S Raymond's website. I don't like some of his views, but then again he writes well, and his stuff carries some academic weight too.
For example, he's written guides about 'How to be a hacker' etc. These have been translated into several different languages.

I'm from the United States, although I lived overseas for most of my life. My family is Mennonite which means I am of Swiss/German descent.
