He's no Lance Burton or Criss Angel. I just find him boring and more than a little creepy. Not unlike the South Park "Blaine-tologists" episode....

Funny you should say that ... I hadn't heard about the South Park take on David Blaine until today, but I read it on a Wiki.

I've been watching the South Park Movie, and my favourite line is unfortunately too rude to post here ... But it involves Satan asking Saddam Hussain a few questions about their love life.
I find him a little boring and pointless.

A friend of mine was once barred from a Blaine-chatroom after posting "Of all the starving a$$h&les locked in a box over the Thames, Blaine's my favourite!". I laughed for about twenty minutes when I read that!
Pretty good! I wouldn't think of posting something like that, but a Blaine chatroom? That's just asking to be shot down in flames.

Yeah, this guy is one of the most insulting people I know. Very funny, but very insulting -- you have to have a thick skin to spend time in his company. What he wrote was probably a little harsh -- but funny nonetheless!!!

This was back when he was doing his hunger-strike-in-a-box stunt in London, and it was hilarious how people reacted. There were groups of people who thought he was doing something great for humanity, and there were a ton of people (back in N.Ireland, for example, where I'm from) who thought he was insulting the memory of dead hunger-strikers.

All I could think was -- it's some pompous idiot looking for attention!! Nothing to get too excited about.

Well, I think this stunt might be greater than his previous ones. Target (it's a store here in the US for those of you who don't know) is giving a $500 shopping spree to 100 families if David Blaine makes it by 5:00pm I think. They've had tons of commercials about it on TV, at least here in Orlando!

Cool. I read that he completed his stunt today (or was it yesterday?) and breezed through it. I liked the bit about getting a lift away from the scene in a NY taxi. If it helps some kids, why not?

I hate his website though. I don't have Flash ver. 8 or whatever and he needs to think about who he's blocking. Flash sites are a pet hate of mine!

    Message to Blaine...

"So you could survive for forty days in a transparent plastic box full of sulphuric acid, with no food, water, heat, or toilet facilities, suspended from Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square, with only a copy of 'Adrian Mole's Secret Diary' for entertainment and not go mad. But you cant use a computer without using Microsoft Windows... Give us a break, you're cheating somewhere!"
