I actually saw that and wondered myself. Although I imagine it was really flash or something similar there were one or two shots where I though it might be one "from our side". I thouhg I might be looking at a heavily themed Gnome desktop at one point.

Haven't seen it yet, but i notice more and more series and movies don't use windows for the computer screen-shots. Royalties?
In 24 (from the 4th season) you even hear the ctu staff talking about "root access" and even see screenshots of the oh-so-famous "drwr--wr" in the file managers

Just a word about the film itself:
At first, I was a bit dubious of the casting choice of Daniel Craig to play 007, but after seeing “Casino Royale” I was more that pleased with his performance. In my estimation, Craig played the character much closer to Ian Flemming's description of Bond than all the others including Sean Connery. I thought it was a fabulous film and perhaps my favourite of them all excepting "Thunderball." My wife has never liked 007 films and I had to practically drag her to the theatre!
Amazingly enough, even she loved it!
- 12-01-2006 #5Quite a recommendation! I've read all the original Bond novels, so might go and see this over the weekend. Flemming's Bond was cold, sadistic and slightly predatory. It's hard to read the novels and actually like the character ... but you kind of do anyway.

Thunderball was a great one. It's gotta be one of my favourites.
Also on the topic of *nix in movies, they mention using Unix terminals in Jurassic Park.

- 12-01-2006 #10Didn't they use a 3D file manager on a Unix system in that movie? (Didn't see it myself, but found the website for the file manager)
