Google obviously went out of their way to put this on. I was a little skeptical so I went to yahoo maps and searched that same area but I didn't see the logo in the field. If you look at the surrounding imagery of the area you will notice that the sector where the logo is has great level detail that is even hard to get for some cities. Either this is a satellite picture taken very recentley for the logo or it is a doctored image. I don't doubt the ability of farm machinery to make the logo though (they operate on GPS now).

did you notice the airplane and four or five cars to the south of the symbol.
edit: this wasn't a put on, Oregon state university linux users group did a symbol like that.
