My Life as a Soundtrack
Hey all,
My housemate gave me this little list to fill out based on my music collection. It is supposed to resemble your life (if it were a movie) and it's big moments in song form.
That's probably a very vague description and doesn't make much sense so I will direct you to my results here. What you do is put your music collection in shuffle/random and play a song. That is the "opening credits" of your life. You hit next and go from there.
It's a very odd thing to do but it produced a good couple of laughs for me.
So, how did you guys do?

Prom:
ZZ Top - Tube Snake Boogie
Life (in general):
The beginning - Seal
Mental Breakdown:
La Cardeuse (The Wool Carder) - Martin Carthy
Driving:
Nothing up my sleeve - Motorhead
Flashback:
Are you ready for the country? - Neil Young
Getting back together:
Fly - Nick Drake (Perfect for the occasion, but you would need to hear it.)
Wedding:
I can't stand it - The Velvet Underground (So that's why I'm still single!?)
Birth of Child:
Crazy - Seal
Final Battle:
Carry On - Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
Death Scene:
Cuckoo for Caca - Faith No More (Sounds a lot like someone dying.)
Funeral Song:
Hazy Jane 1 - Nick Drake
End Credit:

It's fun listening to songs on shuffle ...

I'm a bit concerned that my closing song is about venereal disease. I can imagine that going down well at a funeral. 'He was okay, and he lived life to the full. Now, a song about VD.'

Hmm... I've never thought about giving my *life* a soundtrack, but I have considered giving some of my ex-girlfriends songs that matched either their personality or the nature of our relationship. I don't think I could post those here and still keep their relative anonymity though.
