So who got a wii/PS3
Anyone? Or are any of you still waiting for a pre-order to materialise?
I cancelled my pre-order of the wii, I’ll wait till the new year to get one. PS3s aren’t out in the EU till next March but I’m certainly not considering buying one of those anyway…

Got the Wii on launch day waiting for about 13 hours in line at Walmart. I've heard there going big on Ebay right now, wish I had 2 lol

Neither as of yet.
I'm reluctant to buy a Wii cause since the graphics haven't been updated, it's essentially a Gamecube with a new controller, which isn't bad really, but I can't justify paying $250 for a new type of controller. That's just me.
As for the PS3, it's funny you ask. When it came out, I started a one-man subversion campaign to try to convince people not to get it. If you want to know why (my arguments were pretty long and complex, but worth reading nonetheless, and I don't want to get into it right now) check out these links:

and search for posts by SolitoN (that's my alias). Most of my posts were removed from the first site as the moderator found them inflammatory; in reality, they just presented a perspective not many people had considered when buying a PS3 (and companies aren't required to uphold freedom of speech, only governments, so they suppressed what I had to say to protect their business). I was also at the receiving end of A LOT of hostility from Sony fanboys, but I kept at it and got a few people to see this different angle.
I'm actually considering buying an XBOX 360 (I never thought I would though, but here we are...)
- 12-14-2006 #5Perhaps, but that's the one I'm getting. I already have a GameCube, a PS2 and a XboX (not counting my collection of old school consoles): out of the 3, I really preferred the GameCube.

Anyway, I'm sure you can have a good time with any of the 3 new consoles."To express yourself in freedom, you must die to everything of yesterday. From the 'old', you derive security; from the 'new', you gain the flow."

I wonder which one people would be inclined towards if the price of all 3 were exactly the same. Lets say £200 for example???
Anyway my reason for wanting the wii is so my whole family can join in. For now though I'll just continue to enjoy my Xbox + forza motorsport
- 12-14-2006 #7Have you actually played the Wii yet, though? Yes, the graphics are dated compared to the PS3 or Xbox 360, but once you actually play the games it really doesn't matter. At least, it didn't matter for me. Playing Zelda on my Wii was an engrossing experience that I enjoyed immensely. I didn't really care that it was a tweaked Gamecube port.
