I have been using Windows XP for the past couple of months when I relocated to Colombia, South America from Norman, Oklahoma and had to give away my Compaq Presario. This was an old piece of crap that allowed me to experiment with Linux...

I have been looking for a ready-made solution that would allow me to continue playing with Linux and for that reason I decided to test, yet again, some live distros on USB pendrives.

Normally I would have used Damn Small Linux or Knoppix or Puppy but after reading Techie's review on PCLinux I decided to download the iso image of PCLinux MiniME and create a bootable USB pendrive from Windows XP. The tutorial that I followed is at www.pendrivelinux.com and aside from the command syslinux F: (F: being your pendrive) I didn't have much trouble [In actuality I did syslinux.exe -fm F: and only then was I able to create a bootable pendrive.]

I have been impressed with the results because I was able to create a persistent home on my USB pendrive (which was one of the things I wanted to do...)

This little toy of mine is still under construction because PCLinux MiniME comes with almost nothing and you have to apt-get everything you want (This, I believe, would be very irritating to Techie Moe ) I haven't checked my wireless card with this puppy but it does work with my broad band connection...

Currently, I am doing an update using synaptic and after downloading everything is sort of hanging applying changes on the kernel (I will just let this boy alone and come back after lunch...)
