I saw it: an alright movie. I like Boogie Wonderland and My Way a lot. And Robin Williams. He's great.
But yeah, major political agenda. It screamed "Footloose" to me, and I saw a lot of the whole Great Guin thing as being something of an attack on religion. And the "we need to regulate fishing" moral was fairly obvious
.
In fact, there's evidentally been some criticism of the movie on those grounds...

it realy kind of ruined the movie. first you think its going to be the tried and true disney themeof overcoming an obstical to become loved and accepted. instead it turned into basicaly a political movie. realy, it was suspose to be for children, and children aren't to be concerned with politics yet, it just ruins there life. plus the anti religious theme was basicalynot even covered up. such lines as "well mabye the great guin is wrong" arent doing much to keep a secret or anything. its hard to dispute the anti religios theme with that line.
aperantly fox news also connected lines like "thats just who i am, i cant change who i am" to be pro gay. however, you could say the same thing for any movie that has somebody thats different than others try to fight for his rights. but on the other hand, "thats just who i am, i cant change who i am" is a very common line used by the gay comunity.
"not that theres anything wrong with that"nVidia G-Force 6600GT (bfg) pci-e: amd 64 2000+ (939): 1024 corsair ram: 2X 80gb seagate harddisk SATA: plextor cd/dvd-read/write cdrom SATA

I avoided it when I saw the previews, and after reading reviews on it I will continue to avoid it.

... ice age was good.
but you are right, by the time you realized it had any plot, it was almost over and it turned out to be the political thing.
and there is a lot of people trying to piggyback off of the 3d animation thing.
actualy whats true with all movies these days is that if you want too see all the best parts, just watch the comercials for it.nVidia G-Force 6600GT (bfg) pci-e: amd 64 2000+ (939): 1024 corsair ram: 2X 80gb seagate harddisk SATA: plextor cd/dvd-read/write cdrom SATA

Yeah, I read on a friend's blog about it a couple days ago...
here it is http://lubrio.blogspot.com/2006_12_1...o_archive.html is in spanish though. But he basically talks about how DreamWorks (over the hedge), Pixar (cars) and Warner Bros. (Happy feet) latest releases had leftist, anti-capitalist, etc, etc, messages... At first I thought he was exaggerating, but now I see people with similar perceptions about it... Out of those movies I have only seem cars, I may watch happy feet to see what the deal is...
