Question So Many Types. Which One?

Does anyone know a free Linux which is for a PC computer and the theme hopefully will be like Mac OS X. If not then Windows. Most importantly its free and installs very very easy like Windows 2k or XP just pop in this disc. Also I tried unbuntu 6.06 would not load and the newer one the have 6.10 loads and appears to go to the main screen like where windows has the Start screen, but nothing else seems to happen.

    Advice Please?

99.99% of all Linuxes are completely free. There are quite a few you can try out with all sorts of different interfaces, and all will let you change the interface to your liking. See the "Which Distro?" thread in the link below.

If you're having issues with Ubuntu 6.06, please start a thread with the above information in it in the Ubuntu section of the forum and we'll do our best to help you. Posting the hardware specifications for your computer would also help us (processor, amount of RAM, size of harddrive, what video card you have, etc.)
