This year they made it work

Well, It has happened again. I've gone from spending every evening in front of my computer to just reading mail and the odd newpaper...

The reason is offcourse that everything is working - normally i have a few projects going on (i like to call them projects, but really they are problems)

I don't really know if it is my fault that everything is working or that linux has matured and i doing everything i need by default.

It's been more than a year since i had to struggle to get my ati card working properly. It's the same with my wirless network card. Even xgl works by default on most distributins now...

I like to solve problems on my computer, just to have something to do, something to learn. Maybe all this linux is working stuff is good for linux, but it isn't good for me..

My computer is working so well that my friends have stopped teasing me for using linux. Now they want their own linux computer.. I think xgl did the trick, not to mention my mediapc with mythtv. Linux is certanly very impressive (it have always been), but now I can really show it off

Well, this year they really made linux work.. I can't wait to see what turns up next year... maybe some new cool juicy projects for me...

I'm kind of in the same boat.

Everything on my home box, (Slackware 10.2) is working so perfectly I hate to upgrade to 11, but I'm also denying myself the satisfaction we all share in installing, configuring and tweaking a new Linux installation. It's a conundrum...
