    Predictions for 2007 (and beyond)

You know how every year people make predictions (that never come true) about what the world will be like in 12 months. The technology industry is the worst at this (Vista to be released April 2006, Google to release OS, Apple to buy Nintendo, etc...). For some reason, while I was trying to go to sleep last night, I started to think of crazy (and hopefully fun) possible things to happen for this year (and beyond). If anyone can think of any good ones, do add.

    September 2007 - Vista SP1 released
2009 - SCO sues Ken Thompson for copyright infringment for making Unix in the first place
    2011 - RIAA sues itself for $100,000,000,000,000
2013 - New version of Gentoo released that requires the user to compile the compiler that compiles the bios. The average install takes 9 months, but improved performace saves 2 secs every week. This is usually wasted minimizing porn when mother comes into the basement to wash clothes.
2015 - Enlightenment DR17 Alpha is released. Everyone remarks how cool it is, then goes back to using Gnome or Kde.
2019 - Vista +1 is released. Most of its promised features are delayed. It does ship with new OS X like interface and improved Zune support (5 people rejoice).
2023 - Kde 10.0 and Gnome 9.0 released. Gnome features new easy to use interface. In fact no keyboard, mouse, or interface device is used becauses users are to stupid to use them. All options have been removed to increase simplicity to comply with the HIG. Kde requires 100 TB minimum of hard drive space (50% used to save config files). One user's head explodes when setting the ratio of circle width between the b and o in the about menu in the config option for the panel size chooser's color of ok button option.
2025 - Debian splits over the question if iso can be burned to cdr, since many cdr brand names are trademarked.
2027 - Apple no longer sells hardware, only box versions. Actual empty cardboard boxes, that people put on the desk. They enjoy the look, weight, and improved battery life.
2028 - MS annouces they will released Vista +2 with new improved box like interface.
2036 - Interent Explorer passes the Acid 2 test. Still fails Acid 3-6 tests.
    2050 - Google becomes sentient.
2055 - Linus Torvalds and Richard Stallman's heads are placed in jars and stored at the FOSS head jar storage facility. They sing Finish and Bulgarian songs to each other all day. No one visits them.
2061 - Super intelligent chairs now run MS. Steve Ballmar dies when his head jar is thrown by boss chair at a worker chair that is leaving to go work for Google.
2067 - Slackware 30.1 released with 2.6 kernel by default. It is installed on many computers in museums to show the technology of the early 21st century. An older techieMoe takes his grandson to the museum and is impressed by the new slackware. He gives it a ranking of 4.
2068 - Sentient Google goes to college and spends most of the time drinking. Google search results decrease in usefullness.
2079 - On his death bed, Vergil83 says "GNU/Linux is such a stupid name..... I should have just called in Linux" and he dies.

Lol ... I can believe everything there apart from Moe giving Slackware a 4 ranking.

Intelligent Google? I like the idea. Maybe that one has some truth in it!

Haha. Glad to see I get a spot in your predictions, however far-fetched they may be.

I like the RIAA-suing-itself part... Your other predictions also don't sound so far off.
