    Boycott ATI

I'm so tired of ATI. They think they can just walk all over us because we don't have big numbers. ATI's drivers are TERRIBLE, and it's time we did something about it. I cant stand this anymore.

I got a free computer, I put a 30 dollar NVIDIA 6200 in it. I installed beryl in NO time. First try, easy as can be. My other computers, a desktop with an x800 pro, and a laptop with an x1600, still dont have beryl TO THIS DAY. I have spent DAYS trying to get it to work, running through the forums, searching for answers. I'm tired of this. I spend all this money on a "decent" video card, and I cant do what i want to do with it. I dont see why I even bought this thing in the first place. I mean, even if it is an x1600, its going to run worse than an NVIDIA 6600 with these PISSPOOR piece of **** software ATI refers to as a "driver", and I call an "utter piece of ****."

So, I propose to all of you, that we STOP buying ANY ATI products until we get some drivers that aren't pathetic, and I say we tell EVERYONE we know to AVOID buying any computer with an ATI product in it, and tell everyone to AVOID "upgrading" (I use this term loosely, because putting a ****** ATI product in your computer should never be considered an "upgrade"). Sure, we don't have the numbers, but we are the more savy users, and we are the ones that people turn to when the look for answers.

Lets do this and STOP ATI from pushing us around like we are just some insignificant number.

Lets work to make sure that our next video cards ARENT ATI (SiS, NVIDIA, INTEL, just NOT ATI)

and finally, lets work to put an end to these bastards at ATI who piss all over us.

This has been a long-standing gripe with linux users.
There is petition in the hardware/peripherals forum that deals with this.
I am locking this thread as it is a duplicate of Sarumont's petition.
