    WinXP: Omg I Need Help Bad Someone Please Help Me

    okay i dont know what to do. I bought a 200mw card of ebay so i dont have to go outside with my laptop and get the access point from there. SO i get the card and i plug it in im running windows xp. So i plug it in and i go under wireless network and it shows linksys full signal all 5 green bars are there so i go to connect and it says aquiring network addreess and then its says limited or no connectivity or it says connected but when i open internet explorer nothing happends there no page or anything. I need help fast heres the cards information.

    Thats it so how would i install it or get it to work im new to this also even though its windows im just alittle confused to someone please help as soon as possible desperately need it thanks

    Sounds to me like you're connecting to the router just fine, but it's not connecting you to the Internet. Are you using any kind of wireless security through the router? Is your modem receiving a signal from your ISP?

    The linited or no connectivity means that your computer didn't recieve a IP address. Either your card isn't sensitive enough to pick up a wifi signal at that range, or the network doesn't have a DHCP server. Your computer is assigned an automatic private address if windows XP doesn't recieve an IP address. An automatic private address is an IP address starting with 169.254.x.x.
