Ubuntu, Configuration Editor

How do I change the entries in the Configuation Editor so that the new entries take effect. Say like the window_keybindings maximize_horizontally and maximize_vertically. The full app path is
"Applications-System Tools-Configuration Editor- /apps/metacity/window_keybindings/ maximize_Horizontally <no value>"

Can I change these keys? Thanks, Darrell

As far as I know you have to physically type in <alt>K or whatever you want the key to be, for example:

<Control><alt>p it can be set as <ctrl> and <ctl> as well though (as far as I know).

Good luck!

Thanks, All

I have solved part of my problem, I installed fvwm-crystal which help me to resize the unmaximized window in a win98/XP fashion, by using the resizng handles. fvwm-crystal is in the ubuntu repositories so the terminal command is:

sudo apt-get install fvwm-crystal

When install is completed "Log Off" at the Logon screen choose "Options-Session-fvwm-crystal"
Do this again to change back to metacity window manager.

Now I just need to find a way to change my screen resolution to 1024x768 @72hz @16bit color.
Later, Darrell
