why Internet explorer is faster than firefox

I'm using 2 computers to connect to the internet one of them is running windows the other is running linux (suse 10) ,it seems that internet explorer is faster than any browser in linux (maybe this is a security issue ).
What do you think ( I've tried to change some preferences but in vain ).

It's usually an IPv6 issue, have you tried about:config ?
Your title sounds more like trolling ....

1) Faster how? Faster loading pages? Faster start-up? Faster forward/back?
2) Who cares?

As Juan Pablo mentions, you must have something configured wrong, as Internet Explorer performs horribly compared to most browsers (Firefox, Opera, Konqueror, and the others). Not to mention that IE is just plain unpleasant to use.

As vergil83 asked, what are you defining as "faster"? Faster launch? That's because in MS Windows most of the libraries necessary for IE are loaded into memory at boot and stay there taking up RAM until they're needed. IE uses integrated parts of the MS Windows OS. Firefox does not.

Faster page loads? Perhaps your DNS settings are out of whack. Also, IE likes to display pages as they load even when they're not completely finished downloading. This can give the illusion that it's loading a page "faster".

I also echo Vergil's sentiment as to why this even matters on a Linux forum?

A collegue of mine has a desktop running CentOS 4.4 and his girlfriend has a laptop running Windows XP.

Firefox performs way better than Internet Explorer over there.

In other words, it all depends on the systems

I mean loading web pages like this .

Sometime it seems that the web pages will never be opened even after one hour.

That sounds to me like something else is going on with your system. I've *never* had to wait half an hour for a page to load in IE or Firefox, even on a 56k dialup connection.

Obviously there is something wrong with that.

I'm sure you will find this thread interesting, as it is most probably related to your issue :
