Stop comparing already!

With the argument still going on as to who wins in the security stakes, Linux or micro$oft, i find my self compelled to point out that this is 1 argument that will never be won by either side.

On one hand you have the linux community hurling insults towards M.S about how much of an unstable operating system they really have while on the other side you have the windows users who to be honest, in most cases dont know what linux is.....!

On that note can you tell me hand on heart that anyone could actually compare the two? it's not possible suffice to say that the only thing they do have in common is the fact that they are both placed poorly in the category of operating systems.

I dont agree with this for having been a windows user for many years and still to an extent am (technician by trade) i believe that windows, rather then being an operating system is nothing more then a GUI that allows even the most inexperienced technophobe the oppertunity to use a pc for day day purposes.

Linux on the other hand is not just a gui, it's raw, wonderfull and at times frighteningly addictive to work with. Yes there are front ends availabe line KDE Gnoe fluxbox....and the list goes on but while microsoft sell the system based entirely on how it looks, Linux sell theirs based more so on how it works!

Simply put it's like comparing petrol and diesel, they both fall under the category of fuel but they work each in their own different way, and whether your a petrol head or a diesel fiend is not means nothing it's simply using what you like and ...well at times trust.
