Hangover cures
I know not everyone drinks, but I got stuck in the snow yesterday and the pub looked so warm and inviting I went inside for a couple of jars. A couple turned into three, and I got talking to someone. Then I lost count after about 5 ... or was it six? Yes, I know.
So I have a hangover. Not a bad one really, but enough to slow me down for a few hours. The obvious thing is to go back to bed. Not drinking is a good idea, but not likely to happen.
Do you have a favourite hangover cure? Raw eggs? Cocoa? Mine is a sports drink and plenty of food.I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. - Pablo Picasso

I'm in a similar situation this morning...I've heard that bananas and other potassium-rich foods are the best.

A greasy hamburger and a milkshake are my favorite techniques for battling a hangover. There's something about the grease in the hamburger and the thickness of the milkshake that coats the lining of your stomach so at least you won't feel sick. Of course, that won't do anything for the pounding in your head but in my experience, only time will make that go away.

I hate to state the obvious, but why not try NOT drinking? If you must, do it in moderation and you won't get a hangover.
If neither of those options is palatable, drink Japanese sake. It doesn't take much to get a buzz (it's about 30 proof on average, with higher proofs available) and it doesn't cause hangovers.Registered Linux user #270181

- 02-11-2007 #7Yes true. I get carried away sometimes. Luckily the stuff I drink is quite weak (ale) so it's not a complete killer. It just tends to dehydrate me and - I've noticed - add to my belly.

Sticking to a good single-malt all night can help as well
The next morning, if I'm capable of getting out of bed
then it's as much greasy food, coffee, and coke as I can get my hands on!!
