Rant for PCLinuxOS 2007 is up. It's been a busy week for me, so I think I'm going to be taking a break from the rants for a while.

Woohoo! I broke $100USD today. I won't see a check for another month, but it's there. My hosting costs for this year were around $80USD, so I've actually made enough on the site to have a couple of drinks at Starbucks too. Haha.

Thanks again to everyone who helped my site with a click. I intend to keep it going as long as I'm physically able (and people keep making Linux distributions), so I expect that to be a while.

Aw... come on.... I'm going to have to stop going to your site if that's what you're using your money on. When I first started reading that sentence I thought it was going to end in beer, which I would have been OK with.

Well, I might as well give up on your patronage all together, since I don't drink beer. Sorry to lose you, bidi.

Seriously, though, I'll probably end up spending the $20 on another spindle of CDRs to replace the ones I used for all these rants.

I guess I should have divided that up into two paragraphs... they were different thoughts. I just don't like Starbucks. But at least now I know you're going to get some more CD-Rs.

in your review of open suse you mentioned that the traditional menu had everything under one menu, it didnt in my experience it had three different menus for each one. maybe that is a dvd thing but I used the live cd.

edit: i looked and I didnt load the traditional. I loaded the menu bar which had a description of custom menu menu bar and it had them seperate like ubuntu or debian. in otherwords default gnome.

I definitely didn't like the LiveCD versions. The DVD was better, but I was still annoyed by the weird menu setup. Distributions I rant on now have the added handicap of needing to convince me to use them instead of Ubuntu, which I have on my laptop right now and works just fine.

I might have a bit of a surprise for you all this coming Monday (other than the fact that I'm getting married). It's still up in the air, but you'll notice it when and if it happens.

Congratulations Moe! Who did you con into marrying you? Seriously, let me tell you from experience: No matter how many times you panic and say to yourself, "god, what have I done??" you will survive through the first year.
