TechieMoe.com

The new site went live today. It was a long, hard conversion so I'd appreciate if any of you have the time to run through the site and tell me about any missing links or odd page behavior you see. Here are some major changes to expect:
  1. I removed the Hardware and Software rants sections. They were old, not as popular as my OS rants, and honestly I got tired of maintaining them.
  2. The comic archive pages are very plain now. Seriously, barren. I may or may not mess with this in the future because there's just so damn many of them and I don't want to have to do the work. I think the "plain" look is functional.

Of course I'm up for suggestions on future rants. Enjoy.

::EDIT:: As I state below, the RSS feed is up now and should be working.

Don't take this the wrong way, but at first I thought the front page looked way too minimal and really ugly. After seeing it for a minute or two, though, I really like the bare look of it. The whole thing looks pretty nice, I haven't found any broken links yet.

Thanks. It will certainly take some adjusting for folks that are used to the old style, but I personally like the minimal look. Oh, and the RSS feed should be up now. I played with it in my browser and it seems to be working.

Whoops. See, that's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking out for. Thanks.

Quite nice, I like it !

What did you use in the end ? The Truly Simple template, from ColorLight Studio ?

My only critique so far : I think the default font is a bit too small. Then again, maybe the problem is on my side.

Nice job !

Yes, I ended up using Truly Simple from Color Light Studio. Their "designed by" is at the bottom of each page. Must give credit where credit is due.

As for the size, I've noticed that too. It seems to be different depending on which browser I use. Safari has microprint, but Firefox is huge. Of course, I think I have my Firefox set to upscale my fonts anyway (minimum 14 or something), so that might be the culprit. I'll play around with the style sheet and see if I can get it bumped up a few font points.

Yes, I guess so. I'm using Firefox too (2.0.0.1) with default settings, and the fonts are quite small.

I see you have corrected the issue already. Good.
